Heat Recovery Ventilation

Heat recovery ventilation is a simple method of reducing heating and cooling costs, that will arise from ventilating a space. If full fresh air is introduced into a space then the air must be heated or cooled to comfortable temperatures...

Heat recovery ventilation is simply a way of recovering a proportion of the extracted heat from within the space served. The recovered heat is then passed to the incoming (fresh air) supply as a means of tempering the air.

The units provide a simple means of extracting stale air and supplying fresh air via an internal heat exchanger. The two air flows are not mixed during the process, and can provide energy efficiencies between 50 ~ 70 %...

In the heating season the room is heated to a comfortable temperature. The heat recovery ventilation unit passes the stale air through the heat exchanger. Incoming fresh air is passed in the opposite direction and is tempered (heated) via the outgoing air. The air streams are not mixed in the process...

In the cooling season the room is cooled to a comfortable temperature. The heat recovery ventilation unit passes the stale air through the heat exchanger. Incoming fresh air is passed in the opposite direction and is tempered (cooled) via the outgoing air. The air streams are not mixed in the process...

The systems range from small domestic type units, to large industrial systems. These units can be fully integrated within air handling plants. Common systems are incorporated for use with split air conditioning systems.
